2013 - New Work ..... New Impulse

January 2013

Summer Storm

Crackling snaps of lightning flash across the heavy horizon.
The thunder rumbles from a distance,
then mumbles and grumbles nearer.
As the light winces, it grimaces and fades into sweeter air.
The storm rescues us from madness,
while the rain lashes and splashes
across a choking earth.

Fighting It Off

Seventy-two years are heaped upon my desk,
while life races by in relays run by younger people.
All the rest are dead or grinning gumles in a corner.
I work on work piled up in heavy heaps.
My free time flees from life
and Death lounges lazily learing at my haste.
I enjoy the challenge.

  1. It was hailing and raining in Cordoba until a minute ago... and when I read "Summer Storm" it felt like its rhythm and the hailstones' were in synch.
