Someone once told me, - I can't remember who or when. It may even have been in a dream! - that writing requires two things, - time and discipline. Well that explains all my problems, but I do agree! So I'm starting with the idea that I should write something everyday, without necessarily publishing it on this blog or finishing it, or writing to some purpose. I don't thinks that it even needs to be something coherent, or even especially interesting. I think I should just write, - checking out my basic skills from punctuation to discourse and forcing myself to think about what I am writing.
This morning I started a poem - ( no it's nowhere near ready to be seen!) - and yesterday I blogged an invitation to anyone out there to join me and this afternoon, here I am blogging again. I also have quite an exciting new idea for a story.
Somebody has already asked me whether we shouldn't do all this in Spanish. Why not? Language should never be a barrier to creation.

EliminarI created my personal blog about three years ago, with the intention of doing exactly this: writing for the sake of writing, but I never did follow through - I have many notebooks and loose pages full of scribblings, the aborted beginnings of a million stories that would never see the light.
ResponderEliminarWhenever I start writing I do it with the passion and intent of a maniac, right until I get to, more or less, the middle part. I either get bored with the story (which means it wasn't very interesting to begin with) or, since I already know how it will end, drop it and lose interest. You did use to say I have a grasshopper's mind, this is just another facet of such annoying characteristic.
Still, I rediscovered a handful of dreams I'd written out as soon as I woke up, I might polish them a bit and share them, if you like.
Well, - great minds think alike ( and fools seldom differ)! I would love you to join in and see what we can work out together - and hopefully with others.
ResponderEliminarI do think that we need to establish our own personal deadlines. So this faternoon I will post my new poem ( with some explanations) and you send me an extract from something you wrote.
Also, ( as I am new to this) what's your blogspot called?
Of course it took me ages to see this - I've been exceedingly emotional over something that happened in one of my fandoms.
ResponderEliminarMy blogspot is http://corazon-de-grillo.blogspot.com , you can also access it by clicking on my user image, then going into my profile.
